Surface treatment of screws:DACROMET and RUSPERT
DACROMET, also known as DACROTIZED, is the best technology to replace the traditional zinc electroplating and hot dip galvanizing, which are very polluting to the environment.Dacrotizing is a non-polluting ceramic coating. Dacrotizing can be applied in three colors: black, silver gray and silver white. The most important feature of the Dacrotizing finish is its good rust resistance. It is used for fasteners used with treated wood.
Dacromet is 7-10 times more rust resistant than electro-galvanized and 4-5 times more rust resistant than hot-dipped zinc. Screws with Dacromet finish are salt spray tested for 1200 hours or more without red embroidery.
Dacromet screws do not suffer from hydrogen embrittlement, so Dacromet screws have high strength, such as grade 12.9 external hexagonal screws and grade 8.8 internal hexagonal screws.
Dacromet can withstand temperatures of over 300 degrees Celsius.
RUSPERT is an environmentally friendly coating developed after Dacromet. RUSPERT not only has the advantages of Dacromet in terms of resistance to atmospheric corrosion, but is also harder than Dacromet, and the processed product is more resistant to damage from assembly, and there is no concern about hydrogen embrittlement of the treated workpiece because the process has the effect of helping to relieve the internal stress of the workpiece. It can be made into bright silver, gray, gray-silver, dark red, yellow, army green, black and so on. RUSPERT coatings are widely used in Europe and America for roads, vehicles, ships, hardware, telecommunications and other fields.
RUSPERT finish is composed of three layers: the first layer: metal zinc layer,? second layer: advanced anti-corrosion chemical conversion film, the third outer layer; baked porcelain surface coating.
All JZ fastener screws with RUSPERT coating provide corrosion protection for 500 hours, 1000 hours and 1500 hours neutral salt spray test.
Products with Ruspert coatings are often used in conjunction with other zinc-based coatings such as zinc plating and Dacromet. As with all coatings, their selection depends on the application.
The high moisture content and high salt content of treated wood can cause screws to corrode at a faster rate. Galvanizing has good adhesion, but the thin coating (-5pm) means poor corrosion resistance and is only suitable for indoor and low corrosive environments. This is why galvanizing is not recommended for treated wood (hardwood or softwood). That is why it is wise to choose screws with Dacromet and Ruspert coatings. Compared to Dacromet, Ruspert is available in a wider choice of colors and can achieve a better decorative effect.
Dacromet and Ruspert have many advantages over galvanized and hot-dipped zinc. Both Dacromet and Ruspert coatings have good adhesion and improved corrosion resistance. However, Dacromet is susceptible to corrosion when in contact with other metals. So Ruspert is more suitable for applications that require additional protective elements, such as outdoor drilling screws, deck screws and wood screws.Ruspert coatings have a longer life than Dacromet screws.
